During Lent we are called to reflect upon the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We are called to take time to stop and smell the roses. This is not something that I do very well, and judging many of our conversations, this is something that none of us do very well! So, I want to say, don’t let the rest of Lent fly by. SLOW DOWN! Stop and think about how we are living into the sacrifice, the unconditional love of God.

At the end of April, I will be heading out to The Bethany Fellows Retreat. The Bethany Fellows is a group of clergy who are in their first five years of ministry. We meet twice a year for a week long retreat all over the nation. This is a truly unique experience that I am blessed to be part of. During the retreat, we gather for check-in time with one another, followed with two days of silent reflection, and then we spend time visiting churches that are doing revolutionary things in their own ministry.

During the days of silence on this retreat, it has been my practice to spend my time in prayer. I would like to pray for you and all the members of this congregation on this retreat. Please let me know if you would like me to pray for you or someone else during this time. You can email me your prayer request at heather@saguarochristian.org feel free to be as specific or not as you would like.

During the month of April you will find prayer cards in the back of the sanctuary or you can fill out the ones below. Please place them in the offering tray or my box. Don’t forget to have a little fun and stop and smell the roses.

Peace,

Heather
